The Board of Directors of National ADHD Foundation Inc. | Black Bottom House of Prayer provides strategic leadership, governance, and stewardship in support of our mission to strengthen individuals, families, and communities through faith, education, service, and outreach. Each board member brings unique experience, insight, and a shared commitment to integrity, accountability, and servant leadership.

Together, the Board works to ensure that the organization remains faithful to its vision while fostering sustainable growth, responsible oversight, and meaningful community impact. Their collective leadership helps guide Black Bottom House of Prayer in fulfilling its mission today and building a lasting legacy for future generations.

Board Recruitment

The National ADHD Foundation Inc. | Black Bottom House of Prayer is committed to building a diverse and experienced Board of Directors that reflects the communities we serve. We are currently interviewing qualified candidates who are passionate about advancing our mission and are prepared to provide strategic leadership, governance, and advocacy in support of individuals and families affected by ADHD.

Prospective board members should demonstrate a commitment to servant leadership, professional excellence, and meaningful community impact. We welcome individuals from a variety of professional backgrounds who are dedicated to helping expand the Foundation’s reach and strengthen its long-term impact.

Pastor Dana “Action” Jackson achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry from Faith Christian University, Orlando, Florida, on November 11, 2000. On June 17, 2001, she was licensed by the late Dr. R. W. Wiggins and Bishop Wiggins (Hope Church), when she began her journey to preach the Word of God. In obedience to the Spirit of God and realizing a calling on her life, she incorporated her foundation and ministry on 04/22/2003.

On Good Friday, 03/21/2008, determined to spread the Good News of God, Pastor Jackson started a radio ministry called Justice For All Show, which currently airs Wednesdays on WRMQ 1140 Rejoice Radio – 103.7 FM. As a radio show host, Pastor Jackson presents a revolutionary new way to look at revelations about what the Bible says. Her passion and love for her fellow man are evident in every broadcast.

Faithful and active in preaching the Word of God, Pastor Jackson achieved a Lifetime Pastoral Ordination from Cornerstone Christian University, Orlando, Florida, on April 10, 2008. Having successfully made a positive mark in the community, in 2010 Pastor Jackson received the Ultimate Humanitarian Award from the Metropolitan Orlando Urban League.

On 04/04/2013, Pastor Jackson’s first book, titled Judicial Favor, endorsed by Bishop Allen Wiggins (Hope Church), was published. Her book reveals new insights about injustice and how you can obtain strength and freedom by the power of God’s Word. Dedicated to encouraging others through faith, Pastor Jackson delivers words of wisdom and power that elevate the mind and spirit and shed light on what may seem like hopeless situations.

Pastor Jackson’s ministry, The Black Bottom House of Prayer, was designated a Florida Historic Church on March 11, 2015. She is committed to winning souls for Christ and uses preaching to provide God’s divine Word to address matters important to salvation and human existence, as well as for practical application. Through her leadership and vision, Pastor Jackson has secured over $500,000 in grants and has helped over 100 families become self-sufficient.

Dr. Ruth Joyce Colbert Barnes, Director

Dr. Ruth Joyce Colbert Barnes is a distinguished educator, registered nurse, author, researcher, and community leader with decades of experience in education, healthcare, behavioral science, and public service. She holds a B.S. in Behavioral Sciences/Biochemistry, a Master’s degree and Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Applied Research.

As a member of the National ADHD Foundation Board of Directors, Dr. Barnes brings a unique multidisciplinary perspective to advancing the Foundation’s mission of increasing awareness, supporting families, and promoting educational and community-based resources for individuals affected by ADHD. A former senior city administrator, she has been a lifelong advocate for educational excellence, youth development, and the arts, including expanding access to cultural and theatrical experiences for students.

Dr. Selwyn Lloyd Walters, Director

Dr. Selwyn Lloyd Walters is an educator, theologian, and ministry leader with a lifelong commitment to teaching, leadership development, and community engagement. He serves as an Adjunct Professor of Religion in the Humanities Department at Valencia College, where he teaches World Religions and other courses across the East and West campuses.

Dr. Walters holds a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) from United Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Andrews University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Oakwood University, where he also distinguished himself as a student leader. As a member of the National ADHD Foundation Board of Directors, he brings a servant-leadership approach rooted in education, mentorship, and holistic care. His experience fostering personal growth, strengthening families, and building inclusive communities supports the Foundation’s mission to increase awareness, promote understanding, and improve the lives of individuals and families.

Nominees

Attorney Jane E. Carey, Nominee

Nominated by President Dana “Action” Jackson, Attorney Carey has been recommended to serve on the Board of Directors of the National ADHD Foundation, Inc. | Black Bottom House of Prayer, with board confirmation scheduled on or before July 15, 2026. If confirmed, she will succeed the late Norweida Williams Maxwell, whose faithful service and leadership continue to inspire the organization.

Attorney Carey’s legal expertise, strategic thinking, and unwavering commitment to service would be a tremendous asset to the Board as the Foundation continues to advance awareness, advocacy, education, and resources for individuals and families affected by ADHD. Her experience in governance, leadership, and community engagement will strengthen the organization’s ability to fulfill its mission with integrity and excellence supports the Foundation’s mission to increase awareness, promote understanding, and improve the lives of individuals and families.
