Pastor Norweida Maxwell was born March, 1945 to Reverend Pete and Blanche Leggette
Williams in Jacksonville, Florida.
Attended Duval County Schools and graduated from New Stanton High School in 1962. She furthered her education at Edward Waters College and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics in 1966.
In the summer of 1966 through the spring of 1967 she attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University receiving 12 hours towards her Master’s Degree in Education.

She accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of six at the West Union Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida. Over most of the years she maintained active membership in Jacksonville, New Orleans, Louisiana and Orlando, Florida.
While serving at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Greater New Hope Baptist Church and St John Missionary Baptist Church her responsibilities grew as a choir member, Assistant Financial Secretary, Church Clerk, Baptist Training Union Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Bible Teacher advisor to Deaconess and Drama Ministry, facilitator for Deaconess Workshops in Central Florida and counselor to troubled teens, married couples and young adults.
Her training and mentoring in ministry was done in 1999 through 2005, by her husband, thelateReverendDoctorFredL.Maxwell. In2009sheansweredahighercallingas pastor which she humbly accepted at the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Longwood, Florida.
Under her leadership, God has blessed Mount Olive to replace two air condition units, connect to city water and sewage, acquire commercial refrigerator-freezer, purchase office desk, refrigerator, table and file cabinet, obtain a television, purchase internet service, design and publish a church website, establish (for a short period) a radio broadcast of services on Sunday afternoon, improve church’s electrical system, replace the commercial freezer, enclose the finance room, remodel both men and women restrooms, replace Church sign, install handicap ramps, sprinkler system, trees in front yard of.sanctuary and exterior work of sanctuary.
Reverend Maxwell also established an on-going relationship with City Officials of Longwood and annually with the church annually fed the homeless in conjunction with the organizers of Grace and Grits in Sanford, Florida, distributed Thanksgiving Dinners,and established the Discipleship class to enhance the spiritual growth and knowledge of new members. Licensed Sister Cynthia Jackson in the Gospel Ministry, received the City of Longwood Proclamation for her services, received the Good Citizenship Award from the City of Longwood and obtained and secured ownership of the church’s first rental property. She is active in Mt. Olive’s Jail and Hospital Ministry .
Developed and implemented the first Evangelism class for members to prepare for Mt. Olive’s outreach ministry and hosted the men and women workshops during the 2nd Annual Fellowship of churches Summit 2014. As Pastor of Mount Olive, she agreed to participate in a “lock up” fundraiser on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
She is the mother of Richard Kent Thompson, the grand -mother of Richard Brandon Thompson and Carmen Fife and the great grand-mother of Anastasia Thompson.
